Are you ready for a hip hop Purim?

Purim is still about seven weeks away, but it isn’t too early to think about costumes.

The latest addition to the usual allotment of superheroes, witches and rappers are copies of the outfits worn by Israeli hip hop heroes Static and Ben El.

Their latest hit, “Namaste,” is trending on YouTube with more than five million views.

The costumes are created by Shoshy Zohar, one of Israel’s larger costume companies. Available at most toy stores, the Static and Ben El outfits will probably be an obvious costume choice for the teeny bopper set, as the hip hop singers are always carefully coiffed and dressed, even when they’re not performing.

The dress-up options, however, are far more creative when considering each new Static and Ben El production, which are created with Jordi, the stage name for Yarden Peleg, the Israeli producer who works closely with the hip hop duo, producing lavishly designed sets for each new video.

Last year, the pair channeled Brazilian festivals in “Tudo Bom,” or “Everything is Good” in Portuguese, about an Israeli guy flirting with a Brazilian girl, catching the attention of Brazilians, as well.

They caught everyone’s attention before that with “Zahav,” an ode to the 1950s.

Their latest is an homage to Jamaican and Indian flavors in “Namaste,” set in a jungle, with both Rastafarian and Hindu sounds and colors.
