JTA – The Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago is directing funds to the Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado’s fire relief fund, which will help victims, firefighters, first responders and others impacted by the 14 wildfires raging across Colorado.
The funds will be directed to the Colorado Fire Relief Fund established by the Allied Jewish Federation. Both federations are absorbing all administrative costs and say that 100 percent of the donations will directly to aid victims and those battling the fires.
“Once again, the Jewish community is coming to the aid not only of its own, but to all of those facing this tremendous tragedy,” said Federation President Steven Nasatir.
As of Friday morning, just one of the fires had forced the evacuation of 35,000 people from the edge of Colorado’s second-largest city, had killed at least one person, and incinerated 346 homes.

Help us report truthfully on social media
As a multimedia journalist, my job is to take the quality, fact-based journalism produced by The Times of Israel newsroom and make it accessible across every platform — from Instagram posts to podcasts to short-form videos.
This is how many, especially young people, consume news these days. But misinformation is rampant on social media. Our team at ToI produces accurate, responsible short-form reporting on Israel and the Jewish world.
If you believe in the importance of factual social media journalism, please consider joining our reader support group, The Times of Israel Community. Your financial support is essential to sustain responsible multimedia reporting.
