A US company that offers sweet hummus spreads enjoyed a successful stint on ABC’s “Shark Tank” this week, with Jewish billionaire Mark Cuban agreeing to invest $600,000 in the venture.
“Shark Tank” sees entrepreneurs pitch their business schemes to a panel of investors, who must choose whether to invest in the projects, or pass.
Cuban made the investment in company Delighted By on last week’s show, in exchange for 12 percent of the company shares.
Delighted By offers vegan hummus dessert spreads in flavors that include vanilla bean, choc-o-mint, brownie batter and snickerdoodle.
The company’s products are already available in stores throughout America. To its credit, Delighted By appears to realize that its hummus concept is not a natural one to most, and acknowledges as much in an ad featured on its website.

Help us report truthfully on social media
As a multimedia journalist, my job is to take the quality, fact-based journalism produced by The Times of Israel newsroom and make it accessible across every platform — from Instagram posts to podcasts to short-form videos.
This is how many, especially young people, consume news these days. But misinformation is rampant on social media. Our team at ToI produces accurate, responsible short-form reporting on Israel and the Jewish world.
If you believe in the importance of factual social media journalism, please consider joining our reader support group, The Times of Israel Community. Your financial support is essential to sustain responsible multimedia reporting.
