Pat Boone, the Christian singer perhaps known best as the voice of “Speedy Gonzalez” and other fifties hits, is in Israel to perform in a special tribute show for Israel’s 70th on Sunday, Jerusalem Day.
The gala event, at the Jerusalem Theatre, will open with greetings from Barbra Streisand and include performances from Boone, Shiri Maimon, David Broza, Dino Kartsonakis and the Moran Choir, accompanied by the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra.
Boone, 83, also brought a contingent of evangelical Christians to Israel during this current trip, and is leading them on an extended tour around Israel.
“I am very excited to be here in the Holy Land,” he said. “With every visit I feel that Israel is becoming my second home. This may be my last visit and I am determined to make it the best.”
