French actress Mélanie Laurent will join the cast of “Fauda” for the fifth season of the Israeli war drama, which is slated to premiere in Israel in early 2026, followed by a worldwide launch on Netflix.
Laurent, of “Inglourious Basterds” fame, who recently played Marie-Antionette in “The Flood” (2024) and wrote and directed “Freedom” (2024), will take a lead role in “Fauda” when it begins production later this month.
In “Fauda,” Laurent will be featured in seven of the nine episodes in the upcoming season, starring alongside Lior Raz. They worked together on the 2019 Netflix film “6 Underground.”
Details about Laurent’s character and role are currently being kept under wraps.
Created by Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff, the new season of “Fauda” is being helmed by director Omri Givon of “Hostages”, written by Omri Shenhar of “Tehran,” and produced by Yes TV and L. Benasuly Productions. Yes Studios handles the series’ international distribution.
Based on the real-life experiences of Raz and Issacharoff, the award-winning “Fauda” follows a team of elite Israeli undercover agents as they work to apprehend Palestinian terrorists.
