Firefighting crews managed to gain control of a brush fire that was burning its way up to the Har Gilo settlement south of Jerusalem Saturday Afternoon.

Additional fire and rescue crews, including crews from the Palestinian Authority, were called to the scene as well as four firefighting planes.

Initial reports said the firefighters had difficulty putting out the flames because of the rough terrain in the area, but managed to put it out successfully after several hours.

No injuries were reported, but 40 dunams (10 acres) of olive tree plantations went up in flames.
