A Lufthansa flight from Tel Aviv to Munich was forced into an emergency landing in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia Tuesday night after a burning smell spread through the cabin.

The Airbus aircraft landed safely and its passengers were evacuated as technical crews began examining the plane, Channel 10 reported.

Lufthansa has provided lodgings for the passengers, who will board a flight for Munich on Wednesday morning.

The Germany company apologized for the inconvenience to passengers, and said safety was its top priority.
