Where Google Maps Street View will — and will not — be filming in the West Bank

“What you see from here,” the saying goes, “you can’t see from there.”

Google is proving the point by being selective about the places it includes in its Street View mapping of Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

According to a report on Ynet, residents have spotted Google’s photographing vehicles across the West Bank in recent days, in settlements including Elkana, Oranit and Ariel. But the Google drivers, residents said, told them they were forbidden from driving in and filming in illegal hilltop outposts.
