IDF: Drone footage shows Hamas gunmen transporting arms in ambulances in north Gaza

Armed Hamas operatives are seen using ambulances to transport weapons in northern Gaza, according to the Israel Defense Forces, in drone footage published on Wednesday.

The military said that “routine drone operations” in the Jabalia area, close to the Gaza ceasefire line, “exposed how armed Hamas terrorists repeatedly and systematically use ambulances to transfer operatives and weapons from a hospital to a school.”

The clip shows gunmen operating around an ambulance at two locations.

“This is further proof of the cynical exploitation carried out by Hamas on a regular basis and of its violations of international law under the cover of the civilian population for terrorist purposes,” the IDF said.

The army said that since the start of the ceasefire, Hamas “has violated the agreement and focused its efforts on restoring its military capabilities.”

“The IDF will continue to operate in accordance with international law with regard to medical facilities and educational institutions, including those in which Hamas chose to place its terrorist infrastructure, while committing a blatant violation of the rules of international law,” it added.

The IDF repeatedly accused Hamas operatives of operating from within medical facilities as well as utilizing ambulances to transport its terrorists.

Hostages kidnapped during the October 7, 2023, massacre and taken to Gaza have also said in interviews that they were moved around the Strip in ambulances.

Additionally, a senior Biden administration official accused Hamas in November 2023 of trying to sneak its fighters out of Gaza in ambulances that evacuated dozens of wounded Palestinians to Egypt.

Despite a US-brokered truce entering its second phase last month, violence has continued in the Gaza Strip, with Israel and the Hamas terror group each accusing the other of breaching the agreement that came into effect on October 10, 2025.

Earlier on Wednesday, the military said an IDF reservist officer was seriously wounded by gunfire from Palestinian operatives in the northern Gaza Strip overnight.

In response, the IDF launched a series of strikes on Gaza, including targeting a commander in Hamas’s elite Nukhba Force who the IDF said was involved in leading the October 7, 2023, onslaught, a senior Palestinian Islamic Jihad commander, and a Hamas terrorist who murdered a hostage soldier in captivity at the start of the war.

According to the Hamas-run health ministry, the strikes killed at least 21 people.
