In Mexico mystery, video shows flock of birds falling from the sky
While cause of mass death unclear, local vet suggests the winged creatures could have died from inhaling toxic smoke or perching on power line during an overload

A huge flock of birds mysteriously dropped from the sky while in flight in the northern Mexican city of Chihuahua last Monday, in a mysterious incident caught on video.
Most of the flock appeared to recover and flew off, but dozens of birds died when they hit the ground.
Local residents saw the birds, identified as yellow-headed blackbirds, fall from the sky at around 5 a.m. Security camera footage showed the birds crashing down to Earth suddenly and simultaneously, with many taking flight again while others remained on the ground.
Local police said they had found over 100 bodies.
Though the cause of the mass death remains unclear, a vet called in to assess the incident said the birds could have died as a result of inhaling toxic smoke, possibly from a nearby heater, or by perching on a power line during an overload.
The migratory fowl arrived from northern Canada and had been wintering in Mexico.
