Berlin says Iran must stop attacks on UAE, open Strait of Hormuz

Germany is condemning attacks by Iran on the United Arab Emirates and other nations, Chancellor Friedrich Merz says, adding that Tehran must stop threatening its neighbors and open the Strait of Hormuz without restrictions.
“Attacks on nuclear facilities pose a threat to the safety of people throughout the region. There must be no further escalation of violence,” Merz says in a post on X.
He also says that Iran must enter into serious negotiations with the United States.
A drone strike caused a fire at a nuclear power plant in the United Arab Emirates, officials there said yesterday.
