US President Joe Biden will travel to Jordan after making a wartime solidarity visit to Israel on Wednesday, White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby says.

While in Amman, he will meet with Jordan’s King Abdullah, Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas for sit-downs to discuss the humanitarian situation in Gaza, Kirby says.

Biden “will reiterate that Hamas does not stand for the Palestinian people’s right to dignity and self-determination and discuss the humanitarian needs of civilians in Gaza,” the White House later adds in a statement.
