Blue and White’s Ashkenazi appointed acting chair of top Knesset committee
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleBlue and White MK Gabi Ashkenazi is unanimously approved as acting chairman of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.
He replaces Likud MK Avi Dichter, who has headed the committee since 2016.
The appointment is on an acting basis as a government has yet to be formed since the first round of Knesset elections earlier this year.
The Arrangements Committee, which is tasked with appointing lawmakers to various committees, taps United Torah Judaism MK Moshe Gafni to head the Knesset Finance Committee.
Gafni has chaired the committee since 2015.
