Egypt says no ceasefire deal yet
At a press conference in Cairo, Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri says his country has been working non-stop to end the killing of civilians and protect the Palestinian people. He urges an immediate ceasefire to the Israel-Hamas conflict.
He calls on both sides to accept a seven-day humanitarian ceasefire, and start negotiating to end the crisis. He says the Egyptian proposal is still on the table. He says Egypt has been working for an acceptable text, but without success thus far.
