Erdogan says Turkey evaluating deployment of forces for Gaza stabilization force

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says Turkey was still evaluating how to potentially deploy its security forces to an International Stabilization Force being planned in Gaza, adding that a decision would be made after these discussions.
NATO member Turkey played a key role in negotiations for a ceasefire in Gaza, becoming one of the signatories of the accord signed in Egypt. It has vowed to monitor its implementation and voiced a desire to join the planned stabilization force.
Speaking at a press conference after the G20 summit in South Africa, Erdogan repeats his view that Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza amounted to “genocide” and that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was responsible. Israel rejects accusations of genocide.
Israel has also said it will not allow Turkish troops on the ground in Gaza.
