Esper’s firing won’t affect deal reaffirming commitment to Israel’s military edge — Gantz spokesperson
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleA spokesperson for Defense Minister Benny Gantz says the firing of Mark Esper as US secretary of defense “will not affect” a recent agreement signed between the two reaffirming the United States’ commitment to Israel’s qualitative military edge in light of the proposed sale of F-35 stealth fighter jets to the United Arab Emirates.
Earlier in the evening, outgoing US President Donald Trump announced via tweet that Esper had been “terminated” from his position, and would be replaced by Christopher Miller, director of the US National Counterterrorism Center.
