Gaza officials say death toll at 1,437
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThe Palestinian death toll after three weeks of intense fighting between Israel and Hamas reaches 1,437, according to officials in the Hamas-run Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip.
Of these, 76 are killed on Thursday.
UN and Hamas figures suggest a large majority of the dead, as many as 80 percent, are civilians, while Israel claims the figure includes many hundreds of Hamas fighters, perhaps as many as 1,000.
