Herzog wants tax profits from Intel-Mobileye deal invested in health care

Opposition leader Isaac Herzog calls for the windfall tax profits from Intel’s $15 billion acquisition of Israeli car tech firm Mobileye be investigated in the health care system.

The largest-ever acquisition of an Israeli tech firm is likely to pay out between $2-3 billion in taxes.

“This welcome tax revenue can bring comprehensive treatment to the collapsing health care system,” he says.

Herzog calls for increasing supervision in nursing homes, supplementing the shortage of hospital beds, purchasing new equipment and bailing out Hadassah Hospital out of its sizable debt.
