IDF chief Halevi to give 1st public statement since start of war

The chief of the Israel Defense Forces will give a first public statement since the war between Israel and terror groups in the Gaza Strip began on Saturday.
Several remarks by IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi have been released in recent days, but he has not given a formal address.
The statement will be given later this afternoon from southern Israel.
