In light of the deadly terror attack during a Hanukkah celebration at Sydney’s Bondi Beach on Sunday, the IDF’s Operations Directorate reiterates its safety guidelines for soldiers — both on- and off-duty — who are abroad.
In a message, the Operations Directorate warns soldiers to avoid revealing themselves as servicemembers, avoid conversations about the IDF in general and classified matters in particular, increase vigilance concerning their personal security, and not create a digital footprint while abroad.
“In light of the increase in antisemitic incidents and recent events within the Jewish community, vigilance in the civilian space should be heightened, and one should stay away from demonstrations both in favor of and against Israel,” the message reads.
