Hundreds of protesters calling for a hostage deal and for new elections are currently blocking the Paris Square intersection in Jerusalem.

This mass act of civil disobedience caught law enforcement by surprise, with organizers having led the general public to believe that a march to Independence Park would follow the weekly rally outside the prime minister’s residence.

Instead, march leaders called on attendees to sit in the center of the street.

“We don’t want more killings, this is the time for agreements!” protesters chant.

Many are holding signs demanding a hostage deal and an end to Israel’s ongoing war in Gaza.
