Incoming rocket alert sirens sound in Israeli communities outside the Gaza Strip
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleRed alert sirens wail in the Eshkol Regional Council east of the Gaza Strip.
The IDF says it is investigating what set them off.
Residents of the Eshkol region report hearing explosions after sirens blared in the area, indicating the launch of a rocket or mortar shell from the Gaza Strip.
“Security officials are searching the area. As of now, there are no reports of damage or injuries,” a spokesperson for the region says.
The sirens follow the firing of two mortars at IDF forces operating along the coastal enclave.
Earlier Thursday, an Israeli aircraft targeted a group of Gazans launching incendiary balloons at Israel. Palestinians said one was killed as a result and two were injured.
