The so-called “Joint Operations Room” of various Palestinian terror factions in the Gaza Strip issues a statement following barrages of rockets launched at southern and central Israel today.

In a statement, the collective, which includes both the Hamas and Islamic Jihad terror groups, says it mourns the deaths of senior Islamic Jihad commanders and other Palestinians killed by Israel over the past day.

It warns that Israel is “miscalculating” with the targeted killings of senior terror commanders and that the umbrella group is capable of responding.

Israeli officials have insisted that they are keeping the fight limited to Islamic Jihad and not the larger and better-armed Hamas, which rules the Strip, hoping to avoid widening the conflict, while warning that it is prepared to do so if fired upon.
