Lapid said to reject Bennett demand that right-wing bloc enjoy majority in proposed coalition
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleYesh Atid chairman Yair Lapid has rejected a demand by Yamina chairman Naftali Bennett that the right-wing bloc have one more minister in the cabinet being currently being negotiated by the two party leaders.
Lapid has said he is prepared for Bennett to serve first as premier in a rotational agreement, but Bennett’s demand that the right-wing bloc of their proposed joint coalition have an advantage over the center-left was apparently a bridge too far.
Bennett won just seven seats in last month’s election, compared to Lapid’s 17.
