Lindsey Graham, in Riyadh, says Saudi leader committed to regional integration

US Senator Lindsey Graham meets with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman in Riyadh and says the Gulf leader is “fully committed to his original vision that includes regional integration.”

“The Crown Prince is dealing with the aftereffects of October 7 like all leaders in the region, particularly with the tremendous loss of life in Gaza,” the senator writes on X.

“Having said that, his vision for the region is for conservative Islam to coexist – with tremendous economic opportunity – for the people of Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, and the entire world,” he continues.

Graham, a close ally of US President Donald Trump, says bin Salman “believes that it’s imperative that there is a dignified solution for the Palestinian people, consistent with his past statements in this regard.”

The foreign policy hawk, who represents the state of South Carolina, also notes, amid the American build-up in the region: “It is my hope that if the Iranian regime is replaced by the Iranian people, it would not only lead to a bright future for Iran, but it will also open up a new path for normalization.”

Graham expresses an additional hope that “a dialogue can be started between Saudi Arabia and the UAE regarding their disputes in Yemen and Sudan as soon as possible.” The senator met with Emirati President Mohamed bin Zayed in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.
