Mentally ill man stabs teen in France as ‘Ramadan sacrifice’
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleA 19-year-old girl is seriously wounded in northwestern France when she is stabbed by a man with a history of psychiatric problems, says the prosecutor in the city of Rennes, Nicolas Jacquet.
The 32-year-old man, who calls himself a Muslim, was obeying a voice in his head telling him to make a sacrifice for Ramadan, Jacquet says.
The young woman sustains three stab wounds, two in the wrist and abdomen. Her attacker, who has previously been treated for mental illness, is arrested, examined by a doctor and hospitalized immediately.
