MK Cassif says he was delayed from entering Qusra by Israeli security forces
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleHadash MK Ofer Cassif says he was briefly blocked from entering the West Bank village of Qusra where extremist settlers have laid siege to Palestinian homes.
Cassif, the only Jewish MK in the Arab-majority party, says in a statement that he arrived today at Qusra “to see with my own eyes what’s going on and to try and assist the besieged Palestinian families, who are being denied food, water and medicine just to protect a den of terrorists that was reestablished again today.”

He says that Israeli security forces detained and delayed him, telling him it was a closed military zone, before eventually allowing him to enter the area after the intervention of a Knesset officer.
“This is exactly what apartheid looks like,” he writes. “This is exactly what the occupation looks like.”
Earlier, residents of some of the homes told The Times of Israel that activists were stopped from delivering food to the homes and had to leave it a distance away from the area.
The IDF has been operating on and off for days to remove the settler outpost established at the entrance to the homes, but the settlers have repeatedly rebuilt the structure and refused to leave the area.
