MK: Removing insignia of IAF plane in Turkey was right thing to do

Jewish Home MK Shuli Moalem-Refaeli defends the decision to remove the insignia from the IAF plane that today brought back the bodies of the Istanbul bombing victims, arguing that the end justified the means.

“Israeli Air Force planes proudly bore the symbol of the state when Israel went to the aid of Turkey after the devastating earthquake a few years ago,” she tells Walla.

But, she adds, “When a leader influenced by radical Islam takes control of Turkey, everything is completely forgotten. This is the same extremist Islam that causes Jews in many countries to disguise signs of Judaism and Israel, out of self-protection. In this case, justifiable Zionist objections could have harmed the wounded. The IAF, unfortunately, acted correctly.”
