Netanyahu visits Holocaust memorial on Danube
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleAs he ends his trip to Budapest, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visits the shoes memorial to Holocaust victims on the banks of the Danube, a site where Jews were shot and thrown into the river during World War II.
Netanyahu lays a stone brought from Mount Herzl in Jerusalem at the memorial.
MK Israel Eichler, who is traveling with the premier, reads a chapter of Psalms.
“This place expresses in a tragic way, but clearly, the great change that has taken place in the fate of the Jews,” Netanyahu says.
