New UK foreign secretary heading for DC, with Israel-Hamas war on agenda
Britain’s Foreign Secretary David Cameron, a former prime minister brought back into government last month, will visit Washington this week, his office says.
The trip will be a chance to “reaffirm the strength of the UK’s relationship with its closest strategic ally,” the foreign office says.
At the center of Cameron’s discussion will be “support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression and work to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East,” it adds.
Cameron was in Israel last month for a brief visit and has also traveled to Ukraine since he returned to government.
