Police arrest 4 after Savyon brawl, reportedly including crime boss under house arrest

Police announce the arrest of four people following a brawl in Savyon, reportedly including mob boss Yossi Musli, who was under house arrest.

Hebrew media outlets report the brawl took place outside Musli’s home in the affluent Tel Aviv-area suburb, and that a bloodied switchblade was found nearby with drops of blood leading back to the house.

Magen David Adom medics say a roughly 40-year-old man was rushed to Sheba Hospital in Tel Hashomer in serious condition after he was stabbed in the brawl. Police say the wounded person is among the four who are in custody.

Reports indicate that Musli, 50, is not the person who was wounded.

Musli was arrested last month on suspicion of involvement in a spate of grenade attacks on branches of the Japanika fast-food chain.

He was later released to house arrest. On Thursday, the Tel Aviv District Court granted police’s request to keep Musli under house arrest in Savyon for 45 days.

The order allowed Musli only a limited number of phone calls a day, and forbade him both to “contact dozens of parties” and use the internet whether via app, computer, or phone, police said at the time.

Investigators believe the attacks on Japanika came amid warming ties between the Musli-rival Jarushi crime syndicate and the fast-food chain’s owner Barak Abramov.
