Residents of central Israel report disruptions to navigation apps like Google Maps, Waze and other systems that use GPS with some Tel Aviv motorists being shown that they were in Beirut.

GPS disruptions have previously been widely reported in northern Israel or areas close to Gaza, but have been less common in central Israel.

The IDF has previously said it was jamming GPS signals amid the ongoing war with the Palestinian terror group Hamas in the Strip, deadly clashes with Lebanon’s Hezbollah, and Iran’s attack on Israel in April.

The disruptions come as Israel braces for a threatened fresh Iranian attack, in retaliation for the killings of Hezbollah military chief Fuad Shukr and Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh last week.

There was no immediate IDF comment on the disruptions.
