Soldier dies in military prison; suicide suspected

A soldier in a military prison was found in serious condition in his cell and later pronounced dead in a suspected suicide, the Israel Defense Forces says.
The soldier was incarcerated in the military’s newly opened Neve Tzedek prison complex in central Israel.
As the base is run by the IDF Military Police, the military’s internal affairs investigatory unit has launched a probe into the circumstances of the soldier’s death. Though suicide is suspected, no official cause of death has been designated.
