US President Donald Trump says he rates the American performance in the ongoing Iran war as a 15 out of 10.
“Somebody said, ‘On a scale of 10, where would you rate it? I said about a 15,” Trump says in opening remarks during an event at the White House.
“If we didn’t do it first, they would have done it to Israel and give us a shot, if that was possible,” Trump says.
Pentagon briefers reportedly told Congressional leaders earlier this week that the US does not have any intelligence indicating that Iran was planning to carry out a preemptive strike against the US or Israel.
“We’re in a very strong position now, and their leadership is rapidly going. Everybody that seems to want to be a leader ends up dead,” Trump says.
The president acknowledges that the war will likely cause a “little interlude” in price drops and market booms.
