UN official: Israel’s ban on 6 Palestinian groups shows its terror laws ‘flawed’
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleClement Voule, the UN special rapporteur on freedom of association, says he’s “outraged” by Israel’s designation of six Palestinian rights groups as terror organizations, adding that Israel’s terrorism laws are “flawed.”
I am outraged by news that #Israel designated six #Palestinian human rights NGOs as “terrorist organizations”. Defending human rights, calling for accountability, fighting against arbitrary arrests, is a legitimate work and must be respected, not shut by flawed terrorism laws.

Israel claims the targeted groups were a front for a small PLO faction with a violent history, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
