An 11-month-old baby died Wednesday after falling and hitting her head in a public playground in the central Israeli town of Rishon Lezion.

A medical team that arrived at the scene attempted to resuscitate the baby, who was apparently pushed by another child.

The baby was rushed to the Asaf Harofeh Medical Center in the city in an unconscious state and was pronounced dead a short while later.

“I came and saw a the baby had fainted, unconscious, and her mother was holding her,” a witness told Ynet.

“The mother was in shock, she stood trembling and yelled ‘help me’. She said the girl had been sitting and was shoved by another child, then she fell backward and hit her head,” he said.
