An eight-year-old boy, Youssef Omer Ja’adan, was hit by a truck and killed Saturday in the Israeli-Arab village of Tuba Zangariya in the North. He was rushed to Ziv Medical Center in Safed with no pulse, and efforts to resuscitate him failed, according to Ynet News.

Police located the driver of the truck, a resident of the same village, who claimed to not have noticed any injuries to the child.

In another tragedy on the roads, a wheelchair-bound woman in her 80s and her caretaker were seriously wounded in a hit-and-run accident in Haifa. The women were rushed to the nearby Rambam Health Care Campus in critical condition.

Police were able to locate the vehicle involved in the incident. However, the driver remained at large as of late Saturday evening. The vehicle’s license plates had been removed, reported Ynet.

Police said they found identification documents in the abandoned vehicle, and urged the driver to surrender.

In another accident near the city of Ofakim in the Negev, a 19-year-old man was rescued from his vehicle, which had flipped over. The man was taken to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba; he was said to be in moderate condition.
