Explosives found next to West Bank settlement home
Residents evacuated as police work to disarm pipe bomb in yard of Beitar Illit house
An explosive device was found in the courtyard of a home in the West Bank settlement of Beitar Illit Saturday night.
The homeowner noticed the pipe bomb, from which protruded wires, and notified the police, Ynet reported. Residents of the neighboring houses were evacuated from their homes while sappers neutralized the explosive device.
The police opened an investigation into the incident.
Earlier Saturday evening a Molotov cocktail was thrown at a car in Jerusalem’s French Hill neighborhood. The Israel Police reported that the vehicle, which bore a foreign license plate, was moderately damaged in the attack. Authorities opened an investigation into the incident.
