The Israel Police’s Internal Affairs Division is investigating intelligence officers suspected of having a sexual relationship with a woman involved in their investigations — an impropriety that could damage numerous cases.

“Voice of Israel” radio successfully petitioned the Petah Tikvah Magistrate’s Court to lift a gag order on the case on Wednesday. The police appealed; the Petah Tikvah District Court upheld the lower court’s ruling, but restricted the publication of any further details.

Two weeks ago, a Tel Aviv police intelligence officer was charged with accepting sex toys and cash as bribes from brothels, in exchange for tips on impending raids.
