With film award season in full swing, Israeli model Esti Ginzburg will bring home an honor of sorts — but probably not one she’ll feature prominently on her resume.
“Movie 43,” in which Ginzburg makes a brief appearance, was named the worst film of 2013 at the annual Razzie Awards ceremony.
The “Razzies,” short for Golden Raspberry, jokingly present honors for the most atrocious movies and performances each year on the day before the Academy Awards are doled out.
Taking the mention in stride, Ginzburg told Ynet that “Working on the film was a great experience and I celebrate the win.”
“Movie 43” — starring numerous A-list actors including Dennis Quaid, Greg Kinnear, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, and Kate Winslet — is the story of an aging screenwriter who pitches outrageous plot lines to an executive in an effort to land a contract.
The film features a series of disjointed clips portraying the various proposals, in all their painful glory.
“As the ads for ‘Movie 43’ promised (threatened?), you can’t un-see this thing, so please: Stay away… There’s camp-fun bad and interestingly horrible bad, and then there’s just awful,” film critic Richard Roeper wrote following the film’s release in January 2013.
“‘Movie 43’ is the ‘Citizen Kane’ of awful,” he added.
