Kfir Brigade soldier who refused to ambush ‘price tag’ perpetrators suspended from his position
Man was previously dismissed from a commander training course over same incident
A Kfir Brigade soldier who was dismissed from a commander training course for refusing to ambush perpetrators of “price tag” attacks, also received a six-month suspension Wednesday from his position as a fighter.
The soldier’s family told Israel Radio that there was no jurisdiction to pass judgment on him twice.
The IDF responded by saying that the incident was serious in nature, and that the soldier’s behavior was inconsistent with the accepted standards expected from a future commander in the army.
Price tag attacks are actions carried out by Jewish settlers against Palestinians in revenge for Israeli government or army actions. They often involve vandalism against mosques or Palestinian homes.
In recent weeks the IDF has been carrying out operations aimed at tracking down and arresting the perpetrators of such attacks, Maariv reported on Wednesday.
