State Department: Not the time for S-300 sale
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleState Department Spokesperson Marie Harf says John Kerry expressed displeasure over Moscow’s sale of the S-300 missile system in a phone call with Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.
Harf says the transfer of the S-300 missile system to Iran would not violate existing United Nations Security Council sanctions.
However, she says given the turmoil in the Middle East, the US believes “this is not the time” for the sale.
