Synagogue catches fire in Jerusalem
Flames cause damage to temple and a residential building in the capital’s ultra-Orthodox Har Nof neighborhood

As Israelis celebrated the holiday of Shavuot, an ultra-Orthodox neighborhood in Jerusalem was thrown into turmoil after a local synagogue caught fire on Wednesday afternoon.
The fire, which broke out in the Har Nof neighborhood, caused damage to the synagogue and to two apartments in a nearby residential building before it was put out by firefighters.
One person was lightly hurt from smoke inhalation.
