Two men were killed and two others were injured in a car accident Thursday afternoon, near Kfar Mimon in the northern Negev.

Emergency crews extracted the injured from the scene, after they were trapped in their cars, and a helicopter evacuated them to the Soroka Hospital in Beersheba.

Police said one of the cars had swerved into oncoming traffic for an unknown reason. They added there was reason to believe at least one of the cars was driving over the speed limit.

Earlier in the day, two women aged 30 and 69 were killed in a car accident near Hatzor Haglilit, in the north of Israel. Four others were injured in the crash.
