A 36-year-old woman from the Galilee village of Kfar Rameh was killed Tuesday after being shot in what an initial police inquiry termed a possible accidental firing of a weapon.

The weapon, according to police, is registered to her husband.

Paramedics at the scene tried to resuscitate the woman for an extended period of time, but were forced to pronounce her dead.

The husband has been detained for questioning, police said.
