It’s been 23 years since Canadian rocker Alanis Morissette first performed in Israel, and Monday night marked her third performance in the country, in front of a sold-out crowd of 15,000 at Rishon Lezion’s Live Park.
Now 44, her hair short and dark, the singer who rocked the world with her 1995 album, “Jagged Little Pill,” fulfilled her fans’ wishes with a show that included nearly every song from that international debut album.
The crowd didn’t sit down for much of the show, which was opened by Israeli rocker Ninet Tayeb.
By the time Morissette came on stage, they were eager to hear her sing her best hits, and she acquiesced, with a playlist that included “All I Really Want,” “Hand in My Pocket,” “You Learn,” “Head Over Feet,” “You Oughta Know” and “Ironic.”
It’s been six years since Morissette’s latest album, “Havoc and Bright Lights,” but the local crowd couldn’t have cared less. They got what they came for.
