Aner Shapira, hero of October 7, is heard in duet with Yehudit Ravitz

The family of Aner Shapira, a soldier, artist, and rapper, known for his October 7 heroism, is releasing a single featuring his voice in a duet with renowned Israeli musician Yehudit Ravitz.

In the two and a half years since Shapira’s death, his family has produced his two posthumous albums.

“Come on, Let’s Get Out of Here” was originally recorded by Shapira in 2021, and is the first single from a third album of his music that is currently being produced.

Shapira connected to Ravitz’s music from a young age and at one time recorded his own cover of her song, “Ta’er Lecha” (Describe To You).

Shapira’s family reached out to Ravitz and she immediately offered to contribute.

“The song swept me away instantly, and in one take, I found my place alongside Aner’s voice,” said Ravitz in an interview with Ynet.

The video of the song, set in a camper traveling along a road, is inspired by a painting made by Shapira of a mobile home he saw while traveling in Norway.

Shapira’s story was one of the most notable acts of heroism to emerge from the October, 7, 2023, Hamas massacre in southern Israel.

Shapira was killed in the onslaught, but saved the lives of others in the field shelter where he, his best friend Hersh Goldberg-Polin, and some 28 partygoers had sought shelter during the bloody Hamas attack on the Nova desert rave.

Shapira threw back at least 10 grenades toward Hamas terrorists, the last two after being wounded by an RPG and losing one of his hands, a detail that recently emerged.
