Police raided the Burgers fast food restaurant in Netanya this week after suspects squealed, informing officers that the restaurant not only served hamburgers but also dealt illegal drugs.
When customers at the burger joint wanted more than the standard lunch, they reportedly ordered the “100-shekel burger” and received a side order of marijuana or hashish in a sealed plastic bag with their french fries, reported Yedioth Ahronoth.
If the customer wanted a larger portion of drugs, he could order the 200 or 300 shekel burger, according to the police accusation.
Although the restaurant is situated down the street from police headquarters, officers estimate that the sale of drugs went on for some two months until they raided the restaurant this past week.
Police arrested the owner and three employees and they have already been indicted for trafficking in drugs, Yedioth Ahronoth reported.

As a multimedia journalist, my job is to take the quality, fact-based journalism produced by The Times of Israel newsroom and make it accessible across every platform — from Instagram posts to podcasts to short-form videos.
This is how many, especially young people, consume news these days. But misinformation is rampant on social media. Our team at ToI produces accurate, responsible short-form reporting on Israel and the Jewish world.
If you believe in the importance of factual social media journalism, please consider joining our reader support group, The Times of Israel Community. Your financial support is essential to sustain responsible multimedia reporting.
