‘Fauda’ creator to take Times of Israel readers behind the scenes
Avi Issacharoff, co-creator and co-writer of the TV sensation, will share clips from the making of Season 2 with Sarah Tuttle-Singer at English-language event on December 3

Season 2 of “Fauda,” the popular Israeli television action thriller series, will premiere on the Yes network this New Year’s Eve, but Times of Israel readers can peek behind the scenes with the program’s co-creator and co-writer at an English-language event in Jerusalem on Sunday, December 3.
Times of Israel Presents, together with Beit Avi Chai, will host Avi Issacharoff in conversation with Sarah Tuttle-Singer at the cultural center on King George Strret.
“Fauda” follows a fictional Israeli undercover unit searching for Palestinian terrorists in the West Bank. It was aired on Netflix in 2016, becoming an instant worldwide hit. Season 2 will air on Netflix with English subtitles a few months after it has been screened in Israel.
The new season finds Doron (played by co-creator and writer Lior Raz) and his undercover team dealing with a new enemy who’s “much more dangerous and sophisticated than the previous season,” Issacharoff, who is also the Arab affairs analyst at The Times of Israel, told the paper’s cultural editor Jessica Steinberg. “This enemy wants to get to Doron specifically, following an event that took place in the first season.”
“We’ll talk about how the idea of ‘Fauda’ came to be,” said Issacharoff, “and how it became a success story all over the world.”
Issacharoff will also be showing some exclusive behind-the-scenes clips from the filming of the new season in Israel, which was completed only a few weeks ago.
Beit Avi Chai is a focal point of the Jerusalem cultural scene. The building on King George hosts a year-round program with symposiums, lectures, workshops, performances and diverse cultural events targeting a wide variety of audiences.
The partnership between The Times of Israel and Beit Avi Chai will continue into 2018, with English-language events featuring major figures in Israeli creative, literary and public life. Times of Israel Presents will also be producing regular events in English in Tel Aviv. In January, The Times of Israel will be hosting popular Israeli TV personality Sivan Rahav-Meir.
