Folk singer Dar Williams will make her way to Israel for the first time this November for five performances around the country, including the wintertime Jacob’s Ladder Folk Festival.
Williams will begin her tour on Tuesday, November 27, in Jerusalem, followed by an outdoor garden concert in Maccabim on Wednesday; a Karmiel show on Thursday; and an appearance at the Jacob’s Ladder Folk Festival in Ginnosar on Friday, November 30, through Saturday, December 1.
The American singer-songwriter specializes in pop folk, and has toured with artists such as Mary Chapin Carpenter, Patty Griffin, Shawn Colvin, Joan Baez and Girlyman.
She also has deep connections to the Habonim Dror camp movement, and has performed at several Habonim Dror camps in the US.
A former Habonim Dror staff member, Philadelphian Sara Zebovitz, who recently immigrated to Israel, is organizing Williams’ tour in Israel.
“Her music carries with it lessons to learn for people of all ages,” said Zebovitz. “The more people that get to experience the magic of Dar and her music in person, the better the world can be.”
